Mark W
I need to find some work up here, and everything I've seen on the jobcentre website appears to be either managerial/supervisory roles or jobs that you need relevant experience/training for. I'm gonna try and find something else, so has anyone got any tips for any decent temping agencies or just general job agencies? My sister's used one that she's going to link me to later, but I thought I'd harness the collective power of TF and see what's up...
Revolver
I found out you could get a list of agencies from the information centre in the city centre here. We did this for my mate, we went home and googled them, and crossed off the list the ones that were the wrong type of work.
Nick Manning
I used Adecco and Right 4 Staff before, though with them it's mainly been industrial work, like warehouse and refuse collection, no skills required.
Mark W
That works for me, pretty much. I'm up for pretty much anything (except bar work) simply 'cos I need the money. It's a downer 'cos I've worked a few jobs, but the only ones I really learnt anything in I didn't 'officially' learn stuff in. Like with cleaning jobs, I've been trained how to use floor buffers/polishers and some other stuff, but I didn't have anything officially saying I had been. Apparently it's still legit so it still opens a few doors jobs-wise, but it would've been good to have had some paper from it. Same with working as weekend manager in a bike shop - I could theoretically have one of the Cytech qualifications, but didn't think they were worth shit so didn't bother. Still seems to be the case with them anyway so it's no great loss I suppose...Cheers for the links though, I'll go scope 'em out.EDIT: Just checked adecco - one of the jobs was a Welsh-speaking customer service agent for some company... ...in Newcastle?! It's pretty much made for me, apart from the fact I haven't spoken Welsh in 4 years so can't really remember much of it.

With as much or little over time as i like im payed by the clock so if i turn up at 6am they start paying me at 6am witch is pretty cool. They want me to stay on untill the end of the year but I have had to say no due to collage. I basicly sort out swift messages in the income deparment but theres bugger all work to do so i sit on t-f all day and watch films on the i-pod and sort out what comes off the printer from time to time. Ben Swales
My flatmate used Adecco and Hayes this year. Adecco were the more reliable of the two I think, and got him a variety of work although mainly scanning and printing purchase orders, data entry and the like. They pay quite well too I belive. JDâ„¢
*cough*Gay*cough*And putting *cough* around things isn't? Too far for a lunchtime one Balman, shame! West Smithfield is basically in Farringdon, bit north west of you.
Mark W
Tried Adecco - they had 3 jobs in this area, 2 of which I'm not qualified to do, and the other one was the 'Welsh speaking CSA' one. No dice.
