PaRtZ
Lets get this together, whats the most common, and whats the best... Obviously people are going to have confliciting beliefs here, so lets get a general concensus
RossMcd
I use metal cutting discs to give a nice sharp, medium grind
N.Wood
I use metal cutting. Metal grinding are ok as long as its a brand new disk, once they lose their sharp edge they don't work very well.
Al_Fel
Diamond disc. It's got to be one with wedge cut outs though. It gives me a really harsh deep grind.
N.Wood
Yeah, though ideally you want it in a petrol powered grinder for the best brake hold.
Ben John-Hynes
Been using metal cutting, but recently my grinds have been cack. I may try a diamond beast though!

Al_Fel
Yeah, though ideally you want it in a petrol powered grinder for the best brake hold.Works fine in my £10 4" Wickes grinder.
Bigman
Metal cuting for me, but i find that the best ones are ones that have started life as a 9inch cutting disc and then used until its 4inch and fits my grinder Adam
Mike W
Yeah, though ideally you want it in a petrol powered grinder for the best brake hold.please tell me thats a joke aye metal cutting disc, or give it a go with a woodsaw for the very rainy seasons
totaltrials
Diamond disc. It's got to be one with wedge cut outs though. It gives me a really harsh deep grind. After using Anal's disc, I now use the same, wouldn't use anything else.
Muel
Do they do those insane looking things for a 5" grinder?Where can you get them online from?
Tom Booth
Cheapo shops do them Sam, there for tile cutting etc. I've got one, work's awesome Either that or a 1mm metal cutting disc
Muel
Thinnest disc I have is 4mm, and unfortunately the compound is really fine, like coarse sand. I want it to be more like grit. Time to go shopping me thinks.
Ash-Kennard
LOL im the only stone cutting disc user. i find it works well. tried all the others too. found this to be the best, used it by accident to begin with. didnt notice dad had changed it
tmks88
that diamond disc looks awesome! I want to try it, are they about the same price as normal discs?
idlehans
Lets get this together, whats the most common, and whats the best... Obviously people are going to have confliciting beliefs here, so lets get a general concensusDefinately has to be the stone cutting diamond edged blade probably best on a grinder that isn't to powerful so you're cutting little grooves rather than actually grinding all of your rim away.It might extend the life of the rim.....maybe ? That's the best i've found but a new metal grinding disc is pretty good too.
Al_Fel
You can get cheap ones for about £5 but some of the big name ones are around £50. Aldi had them in a few weeks ago so it might be worth trying there.
