Franc¡s J
Hello Guys,My bike has seen better times to be perfectly honest and i'm looking to replace some broken bits.1. My BB is bent to the extent of not being able to screw it in fully.2. I have 7 spokes missing in my rear wheel and the rim is egged..3. My freewheel has lots of missing pools (I think thats the correct lingo), Skips alot e.t.c.I don't think they're is much I can do about the bottom bracket, so I'm just after your opinions on which one to go for, I'm not after something incredibly expensive, light and colorful... I just want it to be smooth as possible and have a longer life span than my Echo internal. As for my Wheel, I'm unsure about this one... Is it advisable for my to 'respoke' my wheel? I've heard about this weakening the rim, and would it even be able to be trued because of the bend/egg of the rim?My freewheel is much like the Bottom bracket, I'm just after your opinions for something reliable and affordable.Charlie
Redneck
as for the freewheel, a lot of guys seem to like the tensle or the ENO. 72+ engagement points. the wheel, i would probably try to fix it, but if its egges badly probably a new rim. unlace it and see how bad the damage is. buying a whle new wheel is by far the easiest way to go but if you have the know how or have access to the know how just get a rim and re lace it. this will most likely be the cheapest way. the BB, i was going to suggest an echo BB. you could go something like try-all or moe too. i had a FAG BB in my monty, the only reason i replaced it was because i broke the cups by over tightening it. hope you bike sees good times soon!
