Leo_onza Posted August 3, 2009 Report Share Posted August 3, 2009 Hi i need to take the bottom bracket off one of my trails bike i have veiwed a couple youtube movies and people use a speacial tool 22th shimano bottom bracket tool i was wonderin if there was another way to take the bottom bracket off without having this tool does anybody know? Captain Scarlet Posted August 3, 2009 Report Share Posted August 3, 2009 The only other way I would know of is a decent sized screwdriver and a mallet, fit it in one of the splines and hammer away. I wouldn't recommend it though, you'll most likely damage the cups on the bottom bracket to make future extractions/fitting harder.See if anyone you know has the Shimano BB tool, in worst case scenario the tool is only a tenner, so your not exactly breaking the bank for a tool that will get its money worth over time.
