Modified Cars

High tailed Escort.

Vicki Butler-Henderson driving.

No mention of any torque limiting, but I'd guess both cars were pretty much stock. EDIT: bar tyres, ofc.

The reason why I ask is that the Mk1 Escort Cosworth with the high wing was a homologation special and had a mahoosive turbo which was the right spec for the rally car, but awful for the road engine with a whole lotta lag. The Mk2 had a smaller, more driveable turbo with the same power out the box.

The torque limiting was on all Mk1 Focus RS's.

Got some good looks on the motorway.

Actually comedy gold haha!

I'm a fan of modifying cars, I'm not a fan however of cars that look like spaceships, driven by gimpy chavs thinking their bass will launch them to the moon. I love stock looking mods, really subtle, not having a massiv spoiler or a whooping great intercooler hanging out the front end. Just a nice standard looking car, lowered a bit. Plus I love the look of chavs who think they have the remotest chance of keeping up with you 200+ bhp car when they think it's a standard 1.1 or something haha

I'm also a fan for modifying but much more in the engine department.

Subtle body things like de-seeming and lowering look ok but body kits are a bit stupid unless carefully done.

I love to look of Nicks mini thats made of epic and apparently goes like it aswell, but things like that saxo sicken me.

If your going to spend the money spend it wisely.

My Micra (yer laugh it up) can out do almost every other car in our college car park (apart from the heads new 6 series and the deputys XKR. There teachers where does this money come from!)

and thats only had a few subtle tweeks and good old service.

Obviously i'm never going to spend alot of money on it being 18 the insurance premium would physically kill me. Best to save the money until you have a few years no claims and get something you know it'll really work on.

I'm currently looking for a mini (origional) because i know that when i've done what i want to it i'll love it, whearas if i spent the money on the micra that i would happily spend on the mini i'd more than likely end up regretting it.

Will do - hahahahahahaha!

I was driving a MK2 Golf 16v (fastest car in the world) at 18 B)

And the insurance was probably less than you pay on the Micra...

Silly thing is, they'll race anyone, I have more trouble with Saxos and Fiestas trying to race the rx7 than other jap cars and Porsches etc. Think that says something about the typical owners...

I do enjoy it though, so easy to play with them in 5th, let them think they are keeping up, then drop it down and leave them standing :P

My Dad's mate did that in his R32 when we were onthe way to Silverstone, we were doing about 80 in the middle lane and these two chavs in a grey corsa with no shirts on were creeping past in the outside lane, grinning away and bashing the dashboard and stuff. He waited until they were almost past us before flooring it.

Stick it on the strip and I bet it'd get munched.

Yep completely and utterly, i just love the beat the chav with a loud exhaust factor it has.

The chavs get so annoyed at getting beaten by a 6 ft 2 guy with floppy hair driving a girls car with a tiny exhaust.

Its a fun little car and at the moment thats all i want.

Sorry i forgot.

What i meant to say was:

Nah mate my micra is sik init it cud frash a veyron brappp...

My car is highly impractical, silly low, silly hard, but looks (in my eyes) the f**king bollocks and makes me smile just driving it. It's slow as shit and wont be winning any handling contest, but i've built the car to make it look like the car i want.

Next year i may drop a B20 in which with the right box and handling setup would see me in to the high 13's at the strip, but right now, i'm enjoying the slow as shit, cool as slick coupe. :)

So yeh, i'd say it's worth it.

And that's why you modify a car, because you enjoy it. Regardless of what Tom, Dick & Harry say when you drive past. Even if they are master mechanics.

Simon if i have a B18c engine and it was going into a Ek4 civic would a B16 Ek9 box be suitable? What gearbox you planning on running with the B20?
