HahahahahahHahahahahah Hahahahahah etc

f**k off or add something useful. You're more annoying than Callum Curwood or Jack Chinnery were at the height of their gayness. (Both seem alright now).

I say yes, if you know what you're doing and start with a promising car.

I.E: Mk1 Clio Hybrid. Ideal for adding a cage, posh suspension and brakes, maybe a stage 1 tune, then there you have it, a lovely, light, fast little hatch.

Sorry to bring facts into this, but...

Escort RS (Mk1)

227bhp

1360kg

167bhp/ton

Focus RS (Mk2)

301bhp

1467kg

205bhp/ton

Ah, you say, but the Cosworth is four wheel drive! Surely that'll give better traction! Well, in the dry where the Focus isn't traction limited to a large extent then all it will do is soak up power in the drive train. Plus the Escort was originally spec'd with ditchfinder tyres, while the Focus RS's rubber has been noted for how soft it is.

I can't see that YouTube video here, but if the Escort won by anything but a tiny margin, then it's been modified.

1.5 seconds it won by.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the Cosworth was very much standard as well.

Figures mean nothing on damp track, and its really unsurprising that the Cosworth won.

Damp track? No contest. Especially if the Cossie was on modern tyres.

Proper driving though? Escort wouldn't see the Focus's brake lights.

Wowowow, careful there, this isn't just some forum you can throw facts and figures and truth around, that's dangerous.

It was a Mk1 Focus RS, so only had about 210bhp (iirc), and the track was a little damp.

Needless to say the Escort won, but had it been a Mk2 RS, then the Focus would have taken it.

The Mk1 did go through a bit of a tweak after it had a bit of a slating from the press, but it was only 15bhp down on the Escort and 80kg lighter.

What won it for the Escort (Was is a high spoiler or low spoiler version?) was that the Mk1 Focus RS is torque limited in the first two gears to control torque steer. If it didn't have that - and was driven by someone who knew how to drive - then it would probably have been much, much closer.

Yeh Lets

i still think the focus has the looks

but the escort has the power

I think you'll find your wrong, the Escort has less power than the RS. The 4WD and weight makes it a quicker car where it matters, in the corners and under acceleration.

I like this video -

Wank.

I like cars when they've been modded to be like a rally or BTCC car, I know a buy who's got a BTCC spec Mondeo and everyone thinks he's stupid but he's got a twin turbo 3L V6 in it and kills most things local !

I've always wanted a BTCC style 850 T5R, or an Audi 80 Competition (these own!), or an XR4I all done up.

But anyway, if I was to have my ultimate group B road car it'd be an RS200 all day long. My friends, gf's dad owns the only factory painted red RS200S, they were all painted outside of factory by Cosworth except for one of each color (red, blue and white for production models).

I was lucky enough to get a drive in it, and although I'd want a go I'm so glad I didn't drive it !

I love the Sierra Cosworths, and I will own one in the near future if I can 1) find one and 2) insure one. I wouldn't want to 'mod' its looks though, as it's unique as is. I'd just want to mod the f**k out of the engine.

Sam Wards next door neighbour has a Cosworth (can't remember which one), but he's spent silly money on the engine (like 10k + I think..).

Thought I would share this car with you, its a saxo 1.6 vtr. I see this car everyday near my house and I know it's had a stupid amount of money spent on it. The car has had leather streched over it through out the car, it has remote control suspension adjustment, boot fit sound system and many more toys but the engine is 100% standard...
