Captain Scarlet
When you say "Play" the file, is that the raw footage played in WMP straight off the camera? If its not 16:9 at this stage then something is wrong.
Krisboats
Is your camera actually recording in 16:9 or is it similar to mine in that it still records at 4:3 only you have to little black bars produced on the footage by some shutters in front of the lens on the camera itself? Krisboats
Unless it's a 16:9 ratio screen then it's playing the footage in 4:3 converted to 16:9 just the same as the computer is.

Steve-A
It'll be 16:9 FHA, i.e. proper 16:9. It makes it 16:9 by recording oblong pixels, there will be a setting in vegas somewhere for either 16:9 or more likely 'anamorphic'. what you effectively have to do is stretch the video to 133.3% of its current width, but vegas should do this for you automatically if set-up correctly.I've never used sony vegas so cant be of any more use.
