peggysue
right i currently have an old fsa crank upfront with a 22tooth chainring and an 18tooth eno freewheel at the back. this is perfect gearing for me and im happy . however im soon going to be buying new cranks chainring and bashring for upfront but it seems my choices are very limited to middleburns, if i keep things this way. i was looking at the middleburns , new middleburn chainring and i think its a tnn half bashgaurd. are there any other cranks ( strong, isis, take 22tooth rings etc) that would do the job?i know if i was to put the eno upfront on a crank i can have a smaller bashring, and a fixed 14 tooth sprocket on the back, which would save a bit of weight and give more clearance, which alot of people do but someone said that freewheels upfront take more stress and abuse this way.is this true?anyway..any advice would be great so i know when and what to start looking for ! ogre
if your lucky, you might find a tensile adapter thingy you can just see it on here that screws onto threaded cranks and lets you run a bigger chain ring looks like you can still buy them. WIN or one of these? Edited July 28, 2009 by ogre
