LordMersey
HelloAfter my other tyre stopped fitting my wheel i went out and bought another. However now this new tyre dosnt fit as well (it bulges and pops off the wheel when i pump it up). I dont think my wheel has been damaged in anyway as i havnt taken it out for ages but my brothers might have dropped something on it at one stage. Any ideas?ThanksJackEdit: all sorted now thanks for everyone's help! Edited July 26, 2009 by LordMersey
RossMcd
when you are pumping it up make sure it is securely on. Do it in stages. What rim have you got? I believe the echo 07 rims used to do that with creepy crawlers when the rims were getting old.

gussie
How wide is your rim? Because isn't there something about certain rims, at a certain width can't take a tyre larger than ..... I don't know if this is the case in trials but in mtb there was a little chart thing i had somewhere saying like (that is just an example) 29mm rims can't be used with anything larger than 2.6". So my point was tyre to large for rim? Infact what about if you have a tube suitable for the tyre. Like same size sorta thing. Might do something it might not i do not know. And erm don't hold me to any of it please its just some thoughts. Edited July 24, 2009 by gussie

BigAl
Inner tube...?
eskimo
I found trials rims and tyres to be either super hard to fit, or overly easy. Ignoring Maxxis and other DH specific tyres that is.Kinda sucks when you get a new rim or a new tyre, then end up having to buy a new one of either to suit. Don't tell me it's user error either, some are real bad
cai
What beading has the tyre got? As a tyre with steel beading rarely comes off the rim by its self, but to save weight some companys don't use the steel beading and opt to use kevlar bead (folding tyres) and these will be more prone to coming off the rim. Mikey Tomo
Inner tube...? I'm not sure but I don't think that would affect it at all.
bigamac
I'm not sure but I don't think that would affect it at all.Make sure the inner tube is in the tyre, it could be that the tyre is sitting on the inner sure itself. This meaning soon as you pump it up the tube will push it off the rim.
Rob/Mitch
Do you use a thick rim tape?I found that my rim tape was too wide and my tyre didnt sit down in the rim properly causing it to ride up the wall when pumping it up.I had to cut my rim tape down a couple of mm then it was fine!Just a thought
