Muel
Stick it in the oven on a baking tray at full wack, then take it out every 30 secs-minute and try and peel the rubber out with pliers. Edited July 22, 2009 by Muel
psycholist
Boiling them in water is supposed to do the trick too. For metal backings I just pull the pad material out with a pliers or little bit of leverage from a screwdriver if they're really stuck... Muel
I tried boiling in water, I boiled all the water away and it didn't work.Depends what make they are and what glue was used.
Fvil
Cool, i ll try that later. So how do you put the padding on the backing?
Revolver
Stick some glue, superglue's the favourite, and squeeze the material in, and I guess, clamp it if you want maximum stick.
psycholist
I cleaned the inside of the backing with fine sandpaper, washed it with isopropyl alcohol, letting it evaporate dry, then put a drop of superglue in the bottom of the backing, stuck in the new pad and clamped it overnight in a vice.
