lankyri
ok heres the thing i got my leeson to find that both right side mounts are stripped (not from me) been thinking on how i can fix this, was hunting around for a little 4mm nut to put in under the mount but its too wide, leeson mounts arent like the normal four bolt mounts, just wondering how i can fix this, also i dont know if i could heilicoil it either due to the thread in the frame is only about 2mm deepil get pics if this sounds confusing to you, im not very good at explaining stuff hahalankyri
*Tom*
Won't be able to helicoil it unfortunately, as you said, there's just not enough thread depth. I think the best way is your idea with a small nut, then just file/grind it down till its fits in tightly under the mount and the mount should stop it from turning, assuming that your mounts are the same as the ones on my leeson.. like two little square tabs welded on the frame?. lankyri
yea thats it, shame really that i cant heilicoil but il go down my local nuts and bolts shop and see if they have any smaller nuts
_Owen.
One of the threads on my Leeson is stripped aswell. The lad who had it before me put a little nut on there, but it ended up just spinning, so i found a slightly bigger one in my garage, that fits snug to either side of the mount, never caused me a problem again. Skoze
yep, get a little nut (preferably big enough to fit a spanner on but not so big it causes problems) and it'll be fine. Or give Clive a ring and get some new ones brazed on if you're that fussed about it
