peggysue
hi there , ive just ordered the replacement parts for my eno freewheel and im looking at what the actual tool is i require for unscrewing the lockring. i know a hammer and screwdriver can do the job but looking at the lockring im replacing , it does not do a good job to the metal lol.is it some kind of 2 pin spanner? ive seen park tool pin prong thingy's but im unsure wether the ends are pointy enough too fit snugly. or maybe there is a specific one to buy?thanks karl
Mark W
You can use an allen key that'll fit in the holes and just tap it round with a hammer - it's more forgiving than a bladed screwdriver at any rate. For the amount of times you'll need to take the lockring off, I wouldn't bother with investing in a tool to do it, to be honest!
Matt Vandart
As Mark says and also you can use circlip pliers (The ones for expanding external circlips) That is what I use and it works brill.Matt
N.Wood
I just use a set of big-ish needlenose pliers, the ends are pretty much a perfect fit in the holes and gives you some leverage.
ginger allen echo
Sorry to hijack the thread but, i have had my Eno on my cranks for just over 18 months and I too do not have the freewheel tool. How would i go about geting the ffw off?I have tried pliers and screwdrivers but they don't seem to be doing anything...
