Ollie Histon
Me and my friends are planning tonight on cycling round all the small villages and hitting each pub on the way, obviously it's unlikely to bump into many police around these parts o' town but say we did? Max Quinn
I think it's kinda police descretion? As in they could find something to do you for if they wanted (lights, reflectors, drunk and disorderly etc). But it makes playing drunken shark attack along the way alot harder EDIT: I once rode head on into a lampost when drunkenly riding home Edited July 16, 2009 by Max Quinn
LukasMcNeal
The Licensing Act 1872 makes it an offence to be drunk in charge of a bicycle (or any other vehicle or carriage) on a highway or in a public place.
Papa Manual
You'd be very unlucky to be done for it.
Bronz
My mate got into a pretty bad smash last weekend riding home drunk. He came round in A&E So regardless of legality, it's not advisable.
MadManMike
I've been cautioned for it before, mainly because the cop found it funny and had to give me a warning otherwise it'd look bad I guess.Riding drunk is fun but very dangerous, don't do it kids!!! (Seriously!)
Ash-Kennard
few of my mates did it and took off an item of clothing for each pub they went to. needless to say it was a cold night
Mark W
Thought a friend and I were going to get done for riding through Newcastle drinking alcoholic beverages in the form of free glasses of rum and coke. Riding home later that night was probably the sketchiest thing I've done that wasn't a trick, that involved a bike. Didn't really know the way, and was fairly loose. Brakeless too. Ideal! Nick Manning
Yes it is illegal. If the police stop you whilst riding your bike and they determine your drunk, then they can charge you, It's not drink driving, it's something similar, like riding a bike in an unfit state or something. Sam Nichols
Cycling whilst drunk is great fun, pedaling flat out dodging everything that comes your way, hopping curbs. Nothing better! For added fun* do it with no lights.*riskI guess living on a small island probably makes this more viable though, I've never been pulled over at night when on my bike. PaRtZ
I remember trying to trials up my university house' staircase on my trials bike drunk. I think I 5'ed it ALOT.Also my friend was living in whistler and was walking back from a night out, and it was a long walk. But then he found a bike which he nicked and rode drunkenly back to his house, laughing all the way.

Greetings
Now that's much more sensible, over here the consequences are slightly more serious. You go to court, have your license taken away and aren't allowed to ride/drive any form of transport involving wheels (literally - roller skates, skateboard etc). My mate got done for it and had to sell his trials bike because legally he was no longer allowed to ride it. If he got caught, he'd have to go to jail for a year or something like that. Jitters
It's illegal in my state and I've no idea on the consequences should I get picked up, but I do occasionally cycle whilst zooted. Good times!
