RastaYak
Hello everyone! So, my friend but Inspired frame and have some... troubles, I think. He wants 170 mm cranks, not Echo SL and not TA, silver only, what you can advise? And what stem and bar should he use? And, at least, sprokets. On cranks will be 18t, and for the rear... We don't know... 18-14 is too hard, 18-15 may be easy... You advises please!P.S. Can you give me a link for Danny Mac's Inspired? Matthew62
Middleburn cranks 170mm. I run these on my Inspired.....they're good!I use Hope 90mm x 10 stem is OS with Deity 2014 bars......they're good.I use an 18t at the front and use a 14t at the back........it's good!Danny Mac runs a very hard gearing and raceface cranks/hope stem/easton bars. Simpson
I run Tensile Uci cranks, with a 16tooth bash ring. Syncro 90 by 12 degree stem. Fire-eye bars. And 16-12 gearing.
RastaYak
Ok, we decided to use 90*10 stem... Bar... What about Trialtech?Middleburns are too costly, Tensile - too mane crack reports...18-14 - how good gaps? Guy will ride streety style, but sometimes... LEON
Dont copy Dannys gearing if you wanna be doing static stuff, do you mean proper street or hoppy tap street?Leon
Alex Dark
Dont copy Dannys gearing if you wanna be doing static stuff, do you mean proper street or hoppy tap street?Leonreal street...tgs im assuming a compromise, so probably 18:
Revolver
18-14 is great ratio for proper trials, and 18-13 is good for streety stuff but without making trials impossible.
Ben John-Hynes
im assuming a compromise, so probably 18:15That's what I've got on my Ozonys, and it's quite light. Probably 18-14 or even
monkeyseemonkeydo
im assuming a compromise, so probably 18:15That would be no use at all on a 24" though.18-14 is great ratio for proper trials, and 18-13 is good for streety stuff but without making trials impossible.Agreed. I run 18/14 for comps and 18/13 the rest of the time. To be honest I can do street trials just as well with the 13- slightly less acceleration from static obviously but I still sidehop the same height and can backwheel the same. The 14 just makes it easier on nasty muddy banks and makes the bike feel lighter and flickier in comp situations.
psycholist
18:15 is spot on for 26" bikes, but for a 24 18:14 gives almost the same ratio thanks to the 8% ish change in wheel diameter.
