Kel Posted July 12, 2009 Report Share Posted July 12, 2009 Hi guys,would need help to guide me on how to measure BB height.. i am still having the old Crescent Illions frame.i dont remember any specification stating the BB height of the bike.. But assuming the way you measure the bike example measuring the chainstay length, would be middle of rear shaft to middle of bb. that would be your chainstay length.i was using this method to measure my bb height.. taking measurement from middle of rear wheel shaft to ground and than taking middle of bb to ground.. and subtracting it and that would be the bb height..My question now would be if i change any of my tyres (especially the front) to a higher sidewall type, the measurement would be different i believe..Any advise on this?? and from my knowledge is that different BB height uses different length and rise of stem. really need help to readjust my bike handling and geometry.Thanks in advance.Regards,Kel Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
JonMack Posted July 12, 2009 Report Share Posted July 12, 2009 Get a friend to help you with this one:Get a tape measure, measure the wheelbase axle centre to axle centre, then ask your friend to measure the bb rise/drop with a ruler.
