Maladie
Well, As you can see the headset section of the bike badly needs sorting out,The forks are an extra 20mm longer than my old ones so i'm guessing I just need a couple more spacers to put underneath the stem right?Anyway, here are the pics:Forks: Echo Lite '07 in silverStem/Bars: ZOO! Stem & Monty Risers (Also new Trialtech foam grips) Rear Wheel: Profile Mini onto Echo Urban rim. Any opinions are welcome.Cheers Edited July 10, 2009 by Horndean Trials
El Cristoff
Looks good mate, though take the spacer from under the stem and cut down the forks.Try to keep the stem as low as possible, makes it ride 100X better

LiamWood!
He means the steerer tube coming out of the top of your forks cut that bit off so it sits couple of mm under your stem so your topcap nips up your headset.

LiamWood!
ohh you mean the starnut. Just screw your top cap bolt in to it and tap it down with a hammer, make sure you do it far enough that you dont cut through it and make sure you dont tap it down too far the bolt wont reach. Dale-Hill
noooo leave the spacer on, they ride loads better with it there!+1Leave them on if you ever sell the forks you have more chance with a bigger stear tube + If you ever get a new stem you have more room for it
RossMcd
Leaving it also gives you more options with bar height. You can put stackers on top of the stem aswell.

Muel
Looks good mate, though take the spacer from under the stem and cut down the forks.Try to keep the stem as low as possible, makes it ride 100X better Really, really, really not true...Get the extra 20mm (looks more like 25mm to me to be honest) spacers you need and put them under the stem, then if you want to move it down just take a spacer out and put it on top, so you can experiment moving it up and down and find where you want it, when you're sure it's where you want it, just lop the top bit off the steerer so the cap sits straight on the stem.Look in the wiki for instructions on how to cut it down. Okay mate, cheers for the info. I think me and my dad, or maybe me and Chris will be cutting the forks down tommorow. If it is just like people say, a case of pushing the starnut down enough so the forks can be cut down to level out with the stem, then it should be a pretty simple job?Anyway, what do people think of the new stuff, does it look ok? Leistonbmx
Mark where you want to cut with a pencil, and go all the way round with it.Make sure you clamp it into a vice straight and secure, wrap where it's being clamped in cloth so that it's not damaged/scratched.
