God Dam It.....! Freewheel Advice

its been a couple of weeks since i got a secondhand bike and started getting back into trials. ive been out about 7 or 8 times and just on my way home when my freewheel slipped and lost all drive. all my mates have used this freewheel for a long time with no problems and mine did not last much more than a weeks worth of riding.

anyone advise a much stronger freewheel? or can my tryall 108.9 be fixed?

I got my try-all of Ross McD second hand and mines running perfictly. Best freewheel i have ever had.

By the sounds of things your pawls have been f**ked. It can be fixed. Take the free wheel of your cranks and take the face off it. Then see wat bits can be salvaged like the springs and pins. Then buy the replacement ones and put all back together.

As far as I know, you can't take the lockring 'face' off. Plus you cant buy replacment springs etc.

The Try-All freewheels are wlded and you can't undo the lockring. They are called pawls not pins. White Industries ENO spares are what you linked, not Try-All ones. They are not all the same.

to be honest never took the try-all one off. Just the ACS one. Thought they would be the same. Sorry about that. But thanks for clearing that up.

Yeah know there called pawls but thought they were seprate from the pin but its all one bit. Sorry about that again.

try this, i did this before buying a try-all 108.9.

Get off your bike, have your cranks level, and kick down like your kick starting a motorbike, and it should connect, just make sure you boot it.

99% of the time worked with my old one.

thanks to my mate ogre, i will be meeting him tomorrow to get an eno freewheel off him. however he tells me that there is a brass thread saver still stuck in the freewheel. ive never seen one of these and im guessing its screwed into the freewheel. somehow i got to get it out and ogre reckons a hacksaw and a bit of TLC will get it off. has anyone here had one of these or know exactly what im up against? until i see it tomorrow im not sure myself ....would like a bit of advice to get a headstart...

cheers

how much is it ?

65 from tartybikes, but is no different to the 35 pound range ones,

My Monty one ripped itself apart, i nstalled it properly, with perfect space from the cranks and frame, and all was good, there just not very strong.

Wouldnt advise it to be honest.
