terry26rims
i'm currently running a Saracen Flea4 converted single speed with a 22 tooth chainring at the front and a 16 tooth freewheel at the rear. I thought this was standard practice in trials on 26" rims so i have got on with it and am gettting to grips with most minor moves. But, at my compitition on sunday, the club secretary mentioned that he thought my gearing maybe too high for me. Do i change my front chain ring to a 26 tooth or somthing similar? Please help, Slightly confused over the matter. cheers big ears.
ogre
22-16 is well to high! 22-18 is the norm. unless your an absolute animal your gunna struggle to do alot of moves with no short run up.
pogo
You beast, you need to get that front sprocket smaller either replace it with the smallest possible for those cranks or buy some screw on cranks and run 18 16 or 16 13 or something. sstein
22:18 is the norm, though I have used 22:16 and had no problem with it. Depends on how strong your legs are.
