Hs33 Help

Alright people,

My Onza's left brake handle is absolutely screwed, thanks to a sweet bit of riding...

I'm running the PRE-2005 spec levers, and just can't find them anywhere for a good price. But I can find the post-2005 for a good price on tartybikes. My question is: ARE THEY COMPATIBLE?

I had a search through the forums but couldn't find what I was looking for :(

Cheers,

Andy.

I use a pre 05 lever and blade, with 05 callipers, and one side doesnt go in.

So if i was you, i would stick to 05 brake parts.

Oh and you can get replacments for the new levers, but the old ones seem to be more difficult to find parts and snap easier  .

I've read that the only reason the post-05 setup exists is because the old ones were prone to snapping, especially where the TPA was located. It's a shame they didn't make them compatible as there isn't anything wrong with therest of my brake :(

I'll have to keep my eye on the for sale threads and put some offers in once I'm able to post there xD

I have some 05 callipers in black and front braided cable + crossover if you are interested?

Then its just the lever you need.

You can run any of 1, 2, 3 or 4 but you would have to change some of the fittings on the ends. Now i believe you have an 04 lever body. You can not fit any of the new lever blades in 04 lever body and an 04 lever blade will not fit in an new lever body.(obviously). But you can run any one of the above levers with any slaves(again some fittings may need to be changed for instance on the deng slaves). So basically if you have 04 slave pistons(the bit that the pad goes on) you can simply buy a new COMPLETE lever and then bleed it. Or as someone else mentioned if you love your 04 have a look on ebay or the far sale section on here.

That may sound really patronising but its not meant to be.. sorry

Thanks for all your help. The main point I needed to know was if the new blades fitted the old lever setup. Now I know that I can look for an old style blade, as I don't feel like splashing out £40/£50!!!

eBay seems to be poor at the moment, hopefully one will come up soon! (Or I get validated nice and quickly :P)

Dammit!!! Oh well, I know who to come to next time I bail over the handlebars :P

[EDIT] Btw, does anyone think it'd be worth me messaging a mod reg. validation, as I actually signed up a long time ago when I used to have a 20" Base, but never got validated then?....

Or will they still find me OK? I don't know how they look up who needs validating :S

I am going to report you for validation, your posts are well structured and seem like a fine bloke. :)
