Psi? What Do You Run?

Recommended Posts

hi i've been riding trials for two years when i can, having a family with no garden makes riding time very hard to aquire, so i tend to ride by myself and wondered what pressures (psi) other riders use in both front and rear tyres.

I run around 40psi in the front and about 28psi in the rear. is this the same with other riders? A marshall at my club mentioned most run 17psi on the rear! this was far too low for my old tyre but now i have a 44mm wide rim and a big betty 26" 2.4 tyre but haven't got my freewheel yet so haven't used the new set up.

cheers peeps. Terry W

Yeah mate 17 Psi will be fine for your back tyre.

But 40 Psi is waaayy to high for the front.

I would say 30 Psi max, I run mine 25 and it's completely fine,

It depends entirely on how much you weigh, what tyres/rims you run, what terrain you ride and simply what you prefer.

I run different pressures for street and certain types of natural even though my weight/rim/tyre is the same. Try going out one day with a pump and both tyres at, say, 40psi. Try letting each tyre down by 5 or 10 psi at a time to see how it affects you.

I run about 22 front and 18 rear on street, a little more for some natural.

yo man im currently running 35psi in both my wheels 26 inch i personly like running them at quite a hard pressure because the bike rolls around better on harder tyres better for more spinny streety riding

Currently i run 33 psi in the front, i feel this helps me get more of a bounce into things, perfect for front wheel hooks

The downside to this is you cant pump into a hop, because there is no softness really so i finddoing this more difficult.

On my rear i am running 20 psi, it feels very springy for some reason, and im using a wilkos innertube, and to be frank, i like it. and for the small cost of 2.50 its not too bad.
