i like cunning stunts
So after a long time of being bored on 26" i decided i wanted something more fun to ride, something that could do all the tgs stuff but be really good at natural and bunnyhopping which i haven't been able to do in a while due to having a stupidly long bike and high bb..Had a couple of problems one being i snapped a bolt in the frame putting the maggys on ( my fault for not checking the length ) so had to drill and re-tap to a 6mm..Also just after i had taken these pics on me phone the small bit of metal thats meant to tension the wheel with a bolt through just snapped off the frame because they looked to be only tacked on instead of welded all the way around.. Good thing its made of steel i can take it into work and re-weld both sides..Anyway geo : Wheelbase 1085 BB +45 CS 375 Head Angle 72* Tyre clearance 3" Spec: Frame- Marino 24" Rims - Trialtech 24 undrilled 32h Hubs - Fr Hope pro 2, Rear Echo tr Tyres - Fr Halo choir boy lite, rear maxxis swamp thing Cranks - Tensile no bash Freewheel - Echo tr 72 Sprocket - Echo 14t Chain - Toxsin half link BB - Viz Front brake - Hope trial, Rear - standard maggy with Phat pads Bars - Rockman Stem - Tryall Nuc Headset - Toxsin Pedals - Trialtech Forks - Tryall ( sorry for the crap pics from iphone...) zoster
i had those kind o reverse tugs from marino. might be the first one to ask for those : ) but turned out they don't actually work. i think chain tugs are your best chance to keep the wheel in place

i like cunning stunts
i had those kind o reverse tugs from marino. might be the first one to ask for those : ) but turned out they don't actually work. i think chain tugs are your best chance to keep the wheel in placeUpdate on the frame that tensioner idea is absoloutely awful and does not work one bit... after re-welding the lugs back on they just split in two when i put a bolt through them, they are also the hardest and most fiddly thing in the world to actually get a bolt through..So now i have a temporary thing in place were i have drilled through the frame on the outside of the dropouts tapped it and put a nut and bolt through, its rough as f*ck but i need to ride tomorrow..What are my other options for tensioning the chain.. What are these chain tugs and any linkys to ideas to keep the wheel in place?......... Edited July 4, 2009 by Jake-Ansell
Sponge
Fair enough, Marino frames are 'handmade' in Peru by a hardworking guy trying to make a positive impact on trials... but, is the quality really there? I mean even for the low price... the welds look fairly sloppy and for a steel frame, anything 'less' than full 4130 chromoly throughout is a bit dodge. Any hi-tensile grade piece of tubing is likely to fail.I'll be honest, I still wouldn't like to run one of these frames. But maybe in a few years' time, the brand'll improve Nice bike nonetheless

i like cunning stunts
fittttt!one thing, i'd do your dentist a favour and get rid of that half link chain haha.Haha I know mate I don't trust them i have snapped quite a few of them but I need a half link to get the right chain length,, I bought a kmc but I can't get it the right length....!What half links are trustworthy? I suppose none because the design is flawed with the shape of the links so where does that leave me, what chain could I get?

toyota200x
The frame looks great, I really like that it is white. So cleanIt is sad to hear that those tensioners don’t work. They look nice & was thinking about getting them on my next marino.
i like cunning stunts
Basically swapped the frame now for a 26" again just because i was having so much hassle messing/drilling the frame to tension the wheel..! Word of advice for anyone who is thinking about buying one of these get vertical dropouts!! or get him to place a bolt in the frame so you can use snail cams thats what the lad i have given the frame to is trying now.... ( oh chain tugs might work if you can find them small enough for the dropouts... i couldn't... )
