Hope Brakes

I've been offered two front Hope brakes by someone I work with, the first is a Mono 6TI with a 185mm rotor and the second is a M4 with 205mm rotor. Obviously the 6 pot will be more powerful than the 4 pot, but which would people go for for trials? Both brakes are used but fully working. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks for your help.

Neither, they're not designed to bit in the way you want a trials brake to bite, they're designed scrub speed off whilst offering loads of modulation so you can slow down as fast as possible whilst keeping the wheels rolling.

+1

Go for a good Vee and be a man.

I've got an Avid SD5 with Heatsink pads on the back, would the same brake be suitable for the front or are there better alternatives? I'm fairly new to trials, but can a V be routed so that moves like tail whips can be carried out or not?

well if you have those sd5, then try, if you can rotate your frame. I can make xup with Vee, if you want to make a tailwip, you should have a longer cables.

Alternatives:

Disc brakes-

Avid BB7

Hope mono trials

V-

shimano xtr?

Actually, if you want to ride, and dont want to carry brakes with big weight, then better ride with V.
