peggysue
just a quick question people,..... i have the standard magura 4 bolt mounts on my echo frame. there set up great , bolts as tight as can be , and evenly tightened top and bottom , however the slave cilinders still have a habit of twisting under heaving landings ... do you think maybe the mounts are slightly worn (can this happen?) , and losing clamping force? or maybe its the fact im quite heavy (17 odd stone). was thinking about maybe some new tensile offset mounts? any ideas?cheers lads.... Muel
You are one fat bird....Are the C clips fecked? Are the mounts bottoming out? You can file the clamps down so they can be bolted down tighter.

WIGAN
maybe your bolts are bottoming out in the frame and not clamping your mounts properly ????
hdmackay
You could have threaded your frame mate.
peggysue
maybe your bolts are bottoming out in the frame and not clamping your mounts properly ????possibly its a very close call as to wether their touching or not , although i do understand how this can effect the brake not clamping as good. is this down to wear and tear? would new mounts be in order? You could have threaded your frame mate.no no, not threaed the frame... athough that did happen to me when i first got the bike, i ordered a helicoil kit and retapped all 4 threads, not there super duper strong!!! hdmackay
Hmm.... maybe your bolts are too long at they are reaching the bottom of the frame? You could try using smaller bolts?
peggysue
Hmm.... maybe your bolts are too long at they are reaching the bottom of the frame? You could try using smaller bolts?bolts are all good dude...... i reckon the mounts need replacing so might buy some new ones... do tensile mounts come with new c clips? or any mounts i.e echo etc? Jack Morton
bolts are all good dude...... i reckon the mounts need replacing so might buy some new ones... do tensile mounts come with new c clips? or any mounts i.e echo etc?I've got to say that is the stupid idea cause if it is you're bolt's causing the problem you will still have the problem or a minute's work with a file. Muel
Tensile mounts are offset, so don't buy them unless you need them, because when you need to move the slaves in when the pads wear.Do you have standard Maggy mounts? I think the top half of the clamps have little lumps on the corners, which you can file off so it clamps down harder.
peggysue
im going to buy some new mounts anyway as the bike was second hand and the mounts are pretty battered looking... which ones im not sure though. ill see if the problem goes and if not ill try different length bolts (though im sure thats not the problem). cheers for the help anyways.....!! Muel
If they're straight get straight ones, unless it's really tight with new pads in.I'd get the Echo TR clamps, the metal C clip replacer things are immense apparantly.
