pogo
What rim is it?You can drill your own just be accurate about where you mark, start with a small pilot hole then increase the size until you like the look of it, oh and don't drill on the weld. NVWOCI WVS
Measure twice, drill once. Make sure the pilkot holes all line up and are in the right place before you put the big bit through. Hole size depends on rim. DX32 rears can take a hole upto about 24mm comfortably from my experience.
Laurence--Trials
no, this would be very risky and make a mistake and it could be quite an expencive one i personly would strongly say no to that idea... bad one
Muel
It's not a bad idea, it's a piece of piss and it looses you some weight.Depends how arsed you are, and bear in mind that stepped drill bits can be a bit dangerous, and you'll need one unless you have a pillar drill with a 25mm+ chuck. If you're fairly good with a pillar drill and have access to one and the right size drill bit then go for it, bit otherwise it's not worth doing if you ask me as you'll have to start buying bits to do it. 2sixstreet
Yeah do it, this should be encouraged even if it fails miserably. You learn from mistakes but there's very little risk unless your rim is poorly made or you drill too big. You might be limited on the hole size depending on the drill chuck and if the shank of the drill bit is turned down or not. As said, centre punch, pilot hole and then drill. Go to about 12-14mm. It's boring and won't save you much weight but might look cool with some rim tape.
Maladie
If you're not experienced at drilling and have the money, why not just buy some already drilled rims?
George.E
If you're not experienced at drilling and have the money, why not just buy some already drilled rims?I agree, if you have no experience of drilling you may as well buy some new drilled rims as by the time you buy all the parts needed for drilling it will cost the same as a new rim. pecha_cat
my experience was:I drilled holes, it was good for while...but soon I broked my rim.If you want to use your rims for some longer time, better dont drill it.If you have enough money, better buy already drilled rims, actually they are not expensive

Agreed(cannot feel any differance), but small hold so i can see if the rim will crack, but it hasnt so im going bigger very soon.
