Herr.Wolfkatze
Yo gang,So~ I finally, finally FINALLY! Actually have a trials bike on it's way to me now.Beautiful white Inspired with a nice streety set up, it's exactly what I wanted, living in London and all.The only problem is, now that I own a trials bike I don't really know what to DO or where to begin... When I rode around on the P.3 I basically tried practising whatever trials move came to mind at the time, and it was a so-so effort. I can't really do much of anything at the moment so it peeves me off, but if anybody could give me a nice list of 3-5 things I should start working on as my core area of urban trials I'll look up the appropriate articles on TrashZen and get to it!Cheers,Ric

aener
...But before all them - trackstanding. So much easier to ride once you don't have to think about getting ready for a move so much.
Simpson
Depends how streety you wanna go....I vote bunnyhops (learn american and british) (although in trials you will really only need american but british helps you lern how to move you weight upwards.)Track standingBackhopping - pedal hoppingWheelies / manuals. etc.

Joe Papasnap Maher
Very very pure street with some gapping and stuff in there of courseWhat are American and British bunnyhops?Don't bother learning all the hoppy hoppy shit then. American you lift the front first then bring up the rear, british you lift both wheels at the same time.

American you lift the front first then bring up the rear, british you lift both wheels at the same time.Aaaah~ I can do both, though I can do a british bunny hop higher (probably the air preload on my forks helping though)Yeah, there isn't much here to hoppy hoppy. I mean it'll be nice to learn for places like South Bank which are perfect for it but otherwise I just don't really know what to start off with for street. Most of the "street videos" I see are people on mods doing the same T,G or S onto the millionth object, and then there's the likes of Danny Mac, Ali C, That Austrian lot and those Russians. Which is quite a step up, I could watch a video frame by frame all day and i'd still go to do it and be like "Uh... how?"
Matthew62
I also have a white inspired and i have also just moved to London, so we could go for a ride sometime soon and hit the streets. I went out for my first scout around last week and it was pretty good fun. Great reactions from everyone, loads of people taking photos, asking questions etc....loads to ride to!I can show you a few moves to get you started. I'm very much a street rider who likes to ride at speed and bunnyhop things rather than backhopping around so that might be more up your street? Spektrum
Thats awesome dude, i too just got my inspired like a week ago. I've been primarily practicing my trackstand whenever i can, i.e. stoplights, waiting for runs, riding slowly, and my balance has gotten much better. Yesterday i also tried learning how to bunny hop i guess it would be the american way because you lift your front tire first, throwing your weight back, then throw it forwards and bring up the rear. I should be practicing backwheel hops as i really want to get my pedal kick down and start side hopping and such, but i would say (in order)trackstanding/ balancebunnyhopsrearwheel hopspedal kick to rear wheel hops.
