SunshineDiver
Also if you have some disc brake cleaner use a bit of that as well after washing ithe rim as it will shift alot of the grease, oil etc that soapy water and a toothbrush would have just moved about the rim. Muel
No it doesn't, washing up liquid is good for shifting grease, ever washed a greasy pan? Makes it all clean.I doubt his rim is coated with grease either, it'll just have a bit or dirt on there.

I think its cos it just dries everything out but if you dont have any then washing up liquid and a brush is usually enough.

Muel
Sounds like you need to give the rim a fresh grind, it'd probably benefit a lot more than cleaning it.
Guest itstroy08
I use the good old Wilko's tyre shine. It actully works better on rims, then tyres , and glass shine works best on tyres . I think it costs somthing in the region of £2 and comes in a big squirty top lever pull bottle.
theom
petrol works well, if you want to go for the expensive option . Turps works well to. Edited June 25, 2009 by theom
Muel
Petrol leaves an oily residue behind, as it's oil based. So maybe not the best idea...
