eskimo
haha, nice one. Did the geo come together with what you wanted in the end? Do you find yourself hucking out bikes found in skips?
CurtisRider
haha, nice one. Did the geo come together with what you wanted in the end? Do you find yourself hucking out bikes found in skips?Yeah i did, i think the +50mm bb is a little too much. Ive just extended the steerer tube so i can run another inch of stackers, it feels far more balanced now! The bikes i happened to have kicking around.MK2 will have a longer tt, and a lower bb! And be made from new steel rather than recycled

CurtisRider
Extended the steerer, modifed an alloy seatpost to fit, and sprayed a few more bits black need to find a better seat, but i cant afford one Still on the hunt for a front wheel (anything will do upfront), although having no front brake is kinda fun at times!I seem to make it look small Getting more and more used to it, really wanna take it riding soon! CurtisRider
You are actually a monster. How big are you?!Im only 6ft 2.... the bike isnt even that small, 1020 wb, 21inch tt-an inch shorter than my ghz!
Steve-A
Nice work. Be very interesting to see how the high BB rise works out. I'd almost be tempted to say make the next one longer, with +5/10 bb and shortest stays you can, get a range of different 24" geos out there. Pretty much every 24" frame out there had geo pretty close the the original Ashotn Et. Be really interesting to see if any extreme geo would work out i.e. everyone said the Koxx Vinco was mad, but before the Vinco most stock frames were +0/+5mm bb, a couple of years later and most people think +25/+35mm is nice. Push that envelope

Push that envelope Its only a touch shorter than my old zoot, which was intentional because i found the zoot a little long for alot of things-same goes for the inspired (very similar geo anyway).I can get the rear wheel back to 260, which i find is short enough, anymore and itll get silly twitchy! Im running it at about 275 and it feels stable on the back wheel. The extra bb height seems to be of no advantage...i keep thinking i have bunnyhopped far higher than i actually have
Steve-A
Cool. 1020 seems fine length, its what I had my Leeson made at, I think its nice for the really streety trials I ride.Ah I was forgetting how much chainstay adjustment horizontal dropouts give. I've ridden a Ghz wit h24" wheels for a bit, and it wasn't too bad. If I were able to build a new 24" frame I'd be interested to try 260/265 rear end with only +5 or soemthing bb. I found the low BB of the Ghz really helped for skatepark riding and such, and the back wheel action could be improved back upto normal 24" abilities with the shorter stays. CurtisRider
Yeah, i like your style and thats the sort of riding that i try (and fail) at doing. I shall take the bike to the park soon and see what its like! Im not overly into skateparks, i prefer street to ramps but itll be cool to get a comparison. I think a +20mm rise will be what i use next time, as i prefer my conventional geo really, this was just to make the end result more interesting! CurtisRider
After quite some time of not riding, i have dusted off the 24 ready for me to start again Fingers crossed the frame keeps going... Changed the bash for a DMR one i had kicking about, and have now swapped my 90x10 RF Prodigy stem for a 110x15 generic one that pushes the bars up to just the right height (i dont overly trust that stem as its many years old so i have a new FSA one coming along soon along with a new headset as this ones a bit far gone). Hoping to have some new levers soon, although the front brake may get lost and the forks may change in favour of some pashley ones i have in my room. I have owned the jurys 10 years now, i can't believe they are still going!
