How come you want to stop the squeeking mate?

Most people are eager for more squeek :P

But I think giving your rim a grind, just even a light one will quieten it down a bit.

after i ground my rim the brakes are the loadest thing going. it sounds nice apart from when im going down a hill. then it just sounds like i have shitty brakes

Hey, I have run koxx yellows on smooth, andonised and ground. They all squeek like mad, they sound lush. Try using a brake booster, or send me the koxx yellows and I'll send you some top quality maggy blacks. ;)

hey mate, i'm new to the trials scene too and i've found that theres not really much that can be done with a hs33 to make it quieter , perhaps a harder compound pads would help but this would sacrifice your overall brake performance ,

I run yellow viz pads on a smooth rim and the squeak tends to show me that my brakes are working welland they have a healthy bite ,its when they make no sound that you have to wurry (probably wet or grimey) because when the rim is not clean or dry whatever is on it acts almost as a lubricant and reduces the grip that the pad has on the rim.

but if its still bothering you I'd say make sure ur pads are correctly aligned with your rim and make sure your mounts are on tight

hope this helped :D

happy biking

Your brakes squeek because of the very soft compound of trials pads, because of the soft compound and the high heat generated in trials ridding your brakes will squeek. Dont worry about it just worry when they dont squeek as your brakes probably wont be working as well. Hope this explains it

from what i have read the squeak is a vibration if sorts in the caliper. when i got my monty a few years ago it squeaked very badly, especially with tar (i kinda miss the massive squealing). over the years the squeak has lessened, i think this has to do with the calipers getting dirty and not having the room to vibrate as much. to stop is is very hard, if not impossible. i dont think a grind will help since my rims have an old grind on them and will squeal (with out tar) and definably do not tar them if you dont want every one in the neighbor hood to know your riding. probably the less amount of squeal will be from untouched rims.

i have read that the aluminum backed maggie pads reduce the squeak, i dont know if this is true though.

Only way that you will get rid of all noise is with a disk.

A booster will decrease the noise of the brake quite a bit. But in most cases it will still make some noise. A booster also increase's the amount of hold a break will give you which is also a plus side to them. Unfortunitly though, It will stop your brake from biting as much though. Last time i ran a booster, It killed the bite so badly that I had to take it off to get my brake to work at a level that I was happy with.
