LukasMcNeal
I have followed the wiki and got to the stage where i need to put a m5 bolt in it. surely when you screw the bolt into the "gold thing" and you want to adjust the tpa wouldnt the gold thing move causing the bolt to not move in more to push the pistons out? ZeroMatt
The "gold thing" moves and the bolt stays still as you have cut a slot across the head so it fits nicely to the part that pushes the piston in.

Muel
Don't cut a slot in the bolt, just superglue the goldthing into the lever blade and turn the bolt to adjust the bite point.
Nickkkkk
don't use the guide, just think about it logically... that guide is hard to follow imo Edited June 18, 2009 by Nickkkkk
Earl
Is it the Old style lever blade because i know how to fix it if it is.Edit.Just had another look at picture looks like it is, just get a bottle rack bolt and replace it, it works fine iv got one in mine cut a slot in the head end it helps. LukasMcNeal
Thats why you hold the 'gold thing' with your other hand - you've got two for a reason I gt what you saying but the tpa before it broke worked fine with one hand. cai
But you broke that - hense this 'new one' being called a bodge..
0zzy
actually bodge means mending bike with what evers with you so that you can make it home on a ride.
PaRtZ
what? this is sillySlide the gold thing into the lever and hold it still using you're left index finger. Then using your right hand, screw the bolt in. I don't see how thats hard to understand. Then you can either place the sheared bit off (which goes either side of the piston rocker) in place and put the lever back together (the force of the new m5 bodge bolt against the plate will stop it coming out) OR I think you can just use the bolt on its own against the piston rocker
Dan6061
Cut a slot in the head of the M5 bolt, then put it back in so it replaces the old bolt bit you snapped. You still adjust it with the red dial, and it doesn't look broken/bodged at all!
LukasMcNeal
I glued it in and ive fixed it. Though my hosing snapped mid ride so i have a different maggy on there now! Edited June 21, 2009 by LukasMcNeal
