What's The Best First Trial (for Around £300)

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to buy my first trials bike aswell, thinking of a T Pro :ermm:

Not trying to hijack the thread but opinions on this as a beginner bike would be good too if anyone wants to help :)

T-Pro are a nice bike to ride. i started with a T-Pro now i'm just in love with it. the only problem is the bar, forks and stem will need to be upgraded as you progress but the frame is a good frame to build around.

actually the onza bird is cheaper... but man he's heavier than the 499 so it's a hard choice...

Sorry i was looking at the 499 senior.

I think the weight thing is a bit screwed on tartybikes. No way a 499 is lighter than a monty camel.

Onza is always better than the yabbas.

the yaabaa bikes are made by koxx, they are bound to be good. however my mate started on a t pro he is now really really good. bearing in mind it has sapped and sapped at his wallet from day one, he has now completely re-built it and its seriously nice to ride, but to short. so, think about your personal requirements, if your tall, dont get a short frame ect.

You seen my t-pro yet fooking love it lol

People can say i have down graded in my frames, 08 gu to a onza ice, now i ride a t-pro, i would seriously say its one of the nicest mods to ride, i obviously have my own spec parts on, however getting a t-pro, you can always upgrade like shieldsy said. I would suggest a t-pro, however they are just called a onza pro now i belive. But yeah t-pro!!!

hi guys, I was thinking of buying a yaabaa 499 for my first trial. Question is : is it a good choice or what should I go with if it's not ? Thank you.

hi I started on a yaabaa 499 for my first trials bike , and stock it is bombproof (made by koxx), I ended up modding it to the moon ,but now im moving onto a zoo! lynx frame but i found that the 499 was a very easy bike to learn on and id definaitley recommend it

only problem i've had with it is the terrible stock headset with about 6 months of begginer trials riding it was completely shot.

more or less everything else is super tough (frame ,bb ,fork , bars, cranks) so should last you ages and the wheelset is excellent.

one point to note is that if you want to change the sprocket on the front you will need different crank arms as there doesn't seem to be any front sprockets available for the stock cranks (i looked for ages and found nothing)

if you would like some pics of my modded 499 just give me a shout  :turned:

hope this helps with your decision :) happy biking

My brother may be selling his onza t-bird. he only used it a handful of times and it wasnt even doing trials, almost like new. Il ask him if he is definately selling it and how much he wants then il let you know if your interested.

i also ride a t-pro. ive just started riding recently myself and find the t-pro a comfortable and easy bike to ride. i love it.
