RyanMcVicker
What forks can I use with my Hope Trials disc brake? I have a 180mm rotor. I want to get a new lighter fork for my new frame and I noticed that all forks these days have non-standard tabs +20, +30 etc... I have no idea what adapters I'll need or whatnot to still be able to use my current disc brake. Please help me.. Cheers and thanksRyan
AdamR28
Which caliper # do you have currently? Or which fork?
RyanMcVicker
I don't know what caliper number. I have the Echo hifi fork with CNC crown area. Caliper is hope trials brake with 180 rotor size. No adapters.
N.Wood
Caliper number is machined onto the caliper. Think its either 3 or 5 for 180mm. From what I can remember Hifis were ISO, so to use your caliper on some +20 forks you'd need a 200mm rotor. I'm sure Adam can confirm any parts I ot right and add in anything I forgot
RyanMcVicker
what if i don't want a different rotor... i already have what i like
N.Wood
Then you'll just have to get forks with an ISO mount, or if you can only find +20 forks, change your caliper for a 160mm one and you can use a 180mm rotor.
RyanMcVicker
why are bikes so difficult. I just bought my hope trials last winter. Not buying a different one just because my fork. But the new frame i get will be based around a fork with 400mm/35 rake vs. mine which is 45 rake... GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
N.Wood
My frame is also based around a 400mm/35 rake fork, but I'm gangstar as f**k so use Trialtech forks instead. Needless to say my riding hasn't been affected by the 10mm difference.
r2wtrials
Here is the front of my Echo Pure... Hi-fi forks and tryall disc. The Hope caliper is a number 3.Unfortunately the Tryall disc is actually 183mm so it had to have a shave on my bench grinder
