adamtrials
Webuyanycycle.comWe've been operating with great success over the past few months in the midlands area, now comes the nationwide presence...As well as myself there's a host of mechanics, collection people and specialist valuers.Banners should be coming soon, initially on t-f and then on every major biking website/ forum. The front end is finished bar any good suggestions, the backend is going to have a lot more automation in future when the time is right.Suggestions/ errors/ improvements welcome...Also I'm looking for trustworthy reliable members of the forum nationwide to host bike drop off points at your house in your spare time on a commission basis as part of a future expansion. You can express your interest by emailing webuyanycycle@googlemail.com with a little about yourself and I'll send more details...

bigamac
And do you take frames? or have to be whole bikes?
adamtrials
And do you take frames? or have to be whole bikes?I've been wondering about this, I don't think it's really worth doing just frames, this may change in future. Significantly incomplete bikes are ok though, as are bikes made of a load of spare parts thrown together. And yeah it went a bit wonky while trying to get the HTML valid, Internet explorer doesn't seem to like doctypes. Some interesting bikes been offered so far, keep them coming... May I introduce you to www.cyclingweekly.co.uk and www.mbr.co.uk TF mates rates will apply Nice one, I'll have a think about them, it wouldn't be for a few months though as explained below. Road bikes are something I know nothing about, but I have a guy to do valuations who is a phone advisor at one of the biggest road bike shops in the country. The reason for starting on tf/ forums where bikes are cheaper is I'm worried I'll run out of working capital too easily dealing with expensive road bikes Until I find a financial backer/ get a loan anyway... Tomturd/ danny, check your email!

adamtrials
I'm not giving offers out publicly, lol! Offer price depends on a lot of different factors, some are circumstancial which means the offer price could change from time to time. We certainly try and give the highest offer we can, our business model is based around very high turnover and lower profit margains, we want every bike we offer on. (You would not believe how much we've turned over in just a few months...) If the offer seems low it's quite probably because you overvalue it rather than us giving crap offers... We're trying to offer a way to sell your bike very easily for not much less than you'd get for it selling it yourself. Thanks for the offers people, remember a picture is very helpful and may increase your offer price (many have been sent without a pic). Revolver
You definately need to make some sort of animated advert for TV.
adamtrials
I'd love to get Paul and Barry Chuckle for an online flash advert, with "we buy an-y cy-cle, a-an-y cy-cle" being sung to the chucklevision theme. I don't think they really give the right message about the quality of our service though An ex-gf's dad is friendly with Paul Daniels, I'll try and get a pic of him holding a sign, he'd probably do it next time he's there for free. Also a friend's dog's sisters half uncle twice removed is the actor behind Barry Scott, i'll see what I can do Hmm, what other z-list celebrities do I have tenuous links to...I'm also thinking of cutting "webuyanycycle.com" along with a bicycle crop pattern into a several acre overgrown field in front of the house, flying over and taking a picture then sending it to the local paper, or putting large polythene letters of the url in a prominent place. I don't think it'd get much trade but it'd be another cutting to add to my collection of stupid shit i've got put in the paper...Banners on t-f have been paid for and are coming soon.
