Chris King Hub

Im thinking of getting a rear freehub, i want a Chris King hub but want it to be disc, i dont realy have a problem with the price.

I was told that i could do this:

If you have no problems with the amount of money then you should get a King!

and then buy an ISO disc hub shell for it and get the internals changed over

Then you have a Amazing hub with a 10 year warrantee and also you can buy everything you need for a King from Tarty

I really like the sound of that, but where do you get the iso disc shell from?, is it a king shell and will any bike shop change it over?

I have an Onza blade Mod, if i got this would it fit my frame?

Where do i get the parts from and how much roughly will this cost?

cheers james

You can get replacement shells from aspire velotech :)

Send it off to tarty and get them to strip and rebuild it, alternatively you might be able to strip it without the special tool.

Speak to jonmack as I believe he has done what youre looking to do.

edit:

Just buy a full HD Classic or SingleSpeed.

ISO Disk internals are no different to a standard Classic.

The bits you need are a stainless steel driveshell, heavy duty axle and funbolts.

Kings are good, but now that there are so many awesome and reliable freewheels on the market, the need for a King has diminished a lot for trials..

Heck, 108 EP on a Mod with a King is more than enough. No one really needs that much to be honest, and in many cases it can make the bike feel *too* responsive. BMXers tend to hate Kings and hubs with massive EP because during stuff like 180 bunnyhops, when they land in fakie, the massive engagement causes the cranks to 'catch on' almost too suddenly, throwing people off a bit...

Mod riders buy King for the gimmick and the look. Functionally, a decent freewheel would be a lot better price-wise, easier to sort out, install, and the setup would be overall much lighter and better proportioned over the whole bike.

I agree with Simpson. Buy a better frame and better cranks first. Onza's low end stuff really isn't that great for long-term investment.

Yes thats what i want.

So do i buy a bmx king and then buy the shell on this link http://www.aspirevelotech.com/Merchant2/me...BSHELLS_ISO_R32 and then get the shells swapped over.

Is that right, and then that will fit my 20".

I believe so, it might be worth dropping an email to aspire and checking that the iso hubshell will fit onto a bmx hub :)
