Tony Harrison
I need a new graphics card, largely because I'm using the VGA port on the motherboard at the moment but also because I want to run two screens. I have an ECS motherboard with PCI Express and "AGP Express" ports. Really I should use the PCI-E slot, as the "AGP" one is a compromise (it's not proper AGP).So can anyone recommend a cheap (this is only for running XP and Photoshop, no games, etc - large memory not required) dual head PCI-E card?Really I just want two VGA ports.Thanks. Wrayvon
How cheap are we talking? A graphics card for 30quid will have dual ports. Just up to you how good you want it.
Krisboats
ATINvidiaBoth are dual dvi and more than capable in photoshop. DVI-VGA converters will be for if you have an old/cheap monitor.
Tony Harrison
Ok, I bought the ATI one, but it turns out it has 1 DVI and 1 VGA. Their description and photo is a little deceptive. Should I send it back, or can I run two screens on this one anyway? Both my monitors are VGA.Thanks.
Muel
Just get a DVI to VGA adapter, I got one from amazon for £2.18, works great!

Muel
Well mine didn't, and neither has me brand new spare one! Some give them out, some don't. Depends on how high up the card is.
Haz
Should have one in the box with the card AFAIK, the cheaper cards don't come with them.
Krisboats
AFAIK, the cheaper cards don't come with them.Ah that's shit... i thought they all did. Especially as from the product page showing the card having dual dvi.I guess i should have figured when he wrote "should i send it back"... kinda denotes he has the card and there wasn't one in the box :$ I'll have to pay more attention. Tony Harrison
Buying a converter isn't an issue, I'm just curious as to whether or not the card supports both interfaces at the same time, i.e. two monitors, or the option of using DVI or VGA for one monitor. Krisboats
Yeah the card'll be fine with just a little adaptor. It'll just be like having a dual vga card once you plug the adaptor on, the card won't really notice the difference and will sort it all out for you... it'll just work. Haz
You didn't buy a decent screen with dvi?I have one exceptionally good screen and one exceptionally bad screen. The latter being free, so yeah, it's vga.
