Mikee
I have never used trials shoes so I cant help you with that. But I had the same problem awhile ago and bough some shin pads and new pedals and the problem was solved. Was cheaper then the trials shoes aswell. Spektrum
in my opinion, skate shoes work the best. I picked up a pair of grippy manchester selects and i havent had an trouble slipping.

MikeWarner
I always used AirWalks or Vans with thin soles in the past, they seems to work well. I would use any lightweight bendy shoe with a flatish grip to be honest - currently have some Oakley shoes which fit the bill. If you have issues with your shins getting hit, maybe some shin pads would be an idea? I have some 661 pads which seem pretty good.
Sprog!
no they don't help stop shindigs! If you've gotmoney to spend spend it on some 661 shin gaurds, or to make your pedals more grippy if you are using platform pedals cut the middle bitout because then your shoes slightly go into that and there is more grip on either side of the pedal;

trials ryan
Well, my shins really sufferd one time so i brought some shin pads. After a week my legs were sweaty and i was getting a heat rash. So i just put up with it. Besides i dont hurt my shins much anymore.

Jitters
I didn't like my 661 Veggies very much to begin with, but I feel naked without them now. If you're that against using shin guards, then ignore the digs, enjoy the lifelong scars and, with time, you won't be getting them much more. I rarely slip off the pedals these days -although it happens from time to time for everyone. You can also try the Wellgo MG1 pedals, or the Trialtech Mags. I like those a lot.Good luck! Trials-Ladd
Hello, I would suggest getting some tight, flat bottomed shoes for riding in as they have the most grip out of all types of shoes I have tried. Maybe you should consider some new pedals, Trial-Tech pedals have really good grip, even in the wet.
