Julius Czar
+1 on the bb7, so powerful for a mechanical disk, and are easier to set up than any hydraulic disk. I'm running mine with an sd7 lever and clarks pro linear cable, works lush
A.Baxter
I use a QUAD , they are DH brakes but mine is actually sooo good ! Ben John-Hynes
BB7. No question.Easy to set up, so much adjustment, don't have to bleed them, super powerful!Could have said it no better myself.EDIT; Get a cheap cable, take the inner out and spray some GT85 into the outer then put the inner back in and fit it to the brake. Tis what I've done with mine and it feels like my water bled maggie. Edited June 15, 2009 by Ben John-Hynes
J Trials 31
I've tried BB7's, Louise, and Hope. They are all really great brakes. Just really depends on what your budget is I guess. Any of those three and you'll be fine.

Scott Gibbs
Magura louise. Fit and forget sort of brake. Powerful, cheap, easy to set up. Hope brakes are powerful but not very reliable i have had 3 and all have let me down and i will never use their brakes again also hayes have good power but not the best for modulation though. J Trials 31
What's not reliable about the Hope's? What goes wrong? I've had mine for a year now with no problems and no adjustment. Just wondering why others have not had good luck.
Prawny Baby
BB7 all the way for me!Having used BB7's in the past and moved away from them, I've tried every type of louise that's been released over the years, all hope's offerings, and a few others, and now I've finally come back to a BB7 and I honestly can't work out why i ever changed in the first place. bigamac
To be honest.Onza disk brakes are great Great bite and hold. Only downside is it weighs a fecking ton. Edited June 16, 2009 by bigamac
