Headsets

Recommended Posts

The only problem with FSA pig headsets is the bottom bearing are unsealed : /

so when it comes to changing the headset to another frame they falll out if your not careful (easily replaced though)

im saying this as it happens to me everytime i change my headset to a different frame :P (keep forgetting, lol)

(Y)

hope this helped :D

My FSA is the best headset i had on my bike so far. Good bearings, cheap and strong. :)

Ill second that my pig work's fine but my orbit XL2 is still as good as the day i got it and i got it when they first came out.

I wouldn't get a pig, mine was pretty rubbish, I had to rebuild it all the time and it weighed loads. Apparantly they're also slightly wider than most headsets so they flare the frame out slightly, so normal headsets won't fit after that.

I'm running an FSA Orbit or Equipe, I've had both so I can't remember which I have on this bike, they're amazing, never need rebuilding and just keep running as smooth as when they were new.

OK thanks for the help guys much appreciated and i think ill go with the ECHO sl unless any one advises me not to thanks again

Hey, I would stick with the FSA PIG rather than the ECHO SL as (dont get me wrong) quite afew of the deng headsets are quite rubbish. A fellow rider used a ZOO! headset and i creaked and sounded really rough.

If it's creaking it's most likely the bearings.

I went from a FSA to a Hope. Doesn't feel much different but looks pretty damn pimp.

LOL it won't feel ANY different, its a headset not something that affects how your bike ride.

I've always just used shitty crappy ones, for £10 a pop if it seizes or goes rough you can buy a new 1, not really a big issue.

Agreed. Nothing, aslong as its running properly will feel much different.
