Stay On Stock Or Switch To Mod

Hey guys and gals :)

I was just wanting some advice to see whether i should stay with stock?

Or go straight to Mod?

This is probs how i would set the Onza Ice up if i rode mod?

Frame: Onza Ice (with bashplate)

Fork : TRY-ALL Alu HS33

Stem: TRY-ALL Oversize NUC 150mm x 30°

Handlebar : TRY-ALL Rage bar 710mm

Rear brake: Echo CNC Rim brake

Front brake: Echo CNC Rim brake

Cranks: Adamant CNC cranks

Freewheel: TRY-ALL 108.9 18T

Rear Sprocket: TRY-ALL Ultra-light 12T

Chain: KMC Light Reinforced

Chain Tensioner: TRY-ALL CNC Snails

Front Hub : TRY-ALL CNC H100 Non disc

Rear Hub: TRY-ALL CNC H116

Front rim: TRY-ALL hOles 3.2 20”

Rear rim: TRY-ALL hOles, double walled with circular holes, 4.7 19”

Tyres: TRY-ALL Stiky 20”x2.00/20”x2.50

Bashplate: Monty Eagle Claw Bashplate

If you can afford it then go for it (Y)

But it depends what you like to ride i've ridden stock for 3 years and i'm on a mod now zoo python and I love it I'l never go back to a stock! but now I'm wanting a stock and a mod as I'm wanting to keep one bike at my uncles so I dont have to keeo taking mines apart lol!

Mate thats a serious set up you've got planned right there, f'in expensive too, I wish I could justify using my student loans on my bike... Alas, i'll graduate soon and be a rich trials riding pathologist.. Right.

Anyway I personally prefer stock because I like to ride urban, I like the big rims and the larger frame and all the benefits of having a bigger bike. I also read somewhere it's easier to balance the nose/rear on larger wheels. If you do go with mod though, the only thing i'd comment on is that the Try-All Stiky front tyre is excellent, the rear however is not so great, it's not got very good puncture resistance. Unless you're adamant on having matching tyres, a Maxxis Minion/Hi-Roller or a Continental Rubber Queen/Der Kaiser would be a better choice.

high rollers / minions / conti tyres dont come in mod sizing :S
