considering I found the place that sells Phatpad material and tested a whole host of compounds before deciding that the blue material was best and have boxes of the stuff at home, I still choose to use TNN pads

Unfair poll.....

they have both been released very recently so very few riders will have tested both of them.

People will judge oppinions on hear-say and what they think, without having any experience with them. For this reason I didn't vote, although I love my phat pads, and don't feel the need to run any other pad.

agreed, i have phatpads and thats exactly how they sound and to be honest my brake couldnt possibly get any better, its its just impossible :S it refuses to slip haha so the tnn pads cant be any better :S yet i cant imagine they can be anyworse, any pads with cnc backings and half decent material are going to be insanly good if theyre set up right.

my main consern is how they treat your magura calipers nd that, and with phatpads being more of a word of mouth make, and tnn on tarty. you would expect tnn to win as theyre in the uk's biggest trials shop.

but meh, either or, theyre both good.

As i am not in the habit of looking at my pads when riding i am not going to base my choice on what they look like.... Just had some phatpads delivered and had about an hours worth of riding and am very pleased with them. Was using Rock Blues and i find these phatpads feel and sound just that little bit better... does what they are supposed to do, stop. No slippage and they lock solid when needed. I am using on a light grind.

Thr TNN's may well be as good.... can't see at my level how they can be better as the phatpads lock up and don't slip which is what a brake is needed to do afterall!!

Pay's you money, take you choice.

Havn't tried TNN's. But I have ran my phat pads on pritty much everything, harsh grinds, medium grinds, dead grind, anodized rims, smooth rims.

And you know the best of it.............Work f**king un-real on all of them :)

Don't think i'm gonna' be trying TNN's either, from the response i once read in a topic from the owner of plazmatic, stating that the plaz compound has never changed, now when releasing these new pads, he's stated it's the "old original compound" :S. Best of it is, if it isn't the old material, these pads are gonna be shit.

But seriously, how can anything compare to these:

I feel the need to draw everyone's attention to some inaccuracies in this statement.

CRM pads were developed by Chris Russ in Australia quite some time ago. CRM stands for Chris Russ Magura. These were then marketted under the plazmatic name by Tim at trialsin. Now people had mixed experiences with these but it is generally accepted that at some point Plazmatic CRM pads were produced that were not of the same quality as the originals which lots of people had loved. Tim however disputed this strongly in the thread as noted by Otacon.

Fast forward to the present day and TNN is working in conjunction with Chris Russ to produce the TNN CRM pads available from Tarty's. Tim at trialsin however is not part of this operation. TNN has done large amounts of testing of the compound they are selling, comparing it to both the original and the 'dodgy' CRM and it is 100% the original. They however are fussy people, who are never satisfied and want to make something better. Prototypes are being tested at present.

So I guess I'm asking you to re-think your opinion Otacon because if your only issue with TNN is the post referenced above then you need not worry.

Lol and yes I am a personaly friend of Le at TNN, I however use discs and think you're all deluded running rim brakes :P
