leeW
Hi,Just a quick question.I was watching an interview with Ryan Leech on you tube and he mentioned about how he used to use water in his HS33's.He said it used to give him less "spongyness"when riding. Is this possible, or do you HAVE to use Magura brake oil ?Any help on this will be very welcomed.Thanks. pogo
Yes water's fine, just add a little anti freeze to lube the seals.
forteh
Yes water's fine, just add a little anti freeze to stop it freezing, a drop of washing up liquid and a bit of oil to lube the seals.

Jordan GU
I have USED water in my hs33, it's great because its easy to bucket/bath bleed, it's not messy and it's FREE! but I have always wonderd if it would rott/corode the inside seals ect ect?. Was there a reason why you went for LHM Plus over other hydraulic fluids?Just seen that LHM is a mineral oil while DOT 4 is a synthetic fluid. Does that mean Maguras need a mineral oil brake fluid?Ta Edited June 1, 2009 by eep803
Ash-Kennard
maggie=mineraldot=synthetic=hope etci use water. i like how little effort you have to pull the lever. sure it will rot the seals eventually, but you will kill the casting before that happens
