Driving Test's

Best thing to do is take it easy, try to stay calm. Think everything through properly as you do it, and concentrate. I kept messing my tests up right at the start because I was so nervous, then on my 5th I did it in the Mini and passed!

Everyone will say pretty much the same thing, just relax and enjoy it.

Dont see it as a test, see it as a drive and I am assuming you enjoy driving so enjoy the drive.

At the end of the day if you fail you fail, its not the end of the world, start worrying too much and you will fail.

Just make sure you've had enough lessons before you waste stupid amounts of money on your test.

Meh I had 7 lessons, but like danny had hours in my own car just driving around.

You'll be fine, dont f**k it up.

Yea well we always have cars here that i can drive. Had been on a scooter for a year, and for my 17th got 10 lessons payed for by my parents, I soon realised that i wouldn't be able to afford to pay for many lessons on my own, f**k working my ass off for 4 hours to be stuck in a car with some twat for 1.. so yea just did it within 10! happy days.

Yea, top tip for anyone learning to drive.

Book your practical as soon as you can, then tell your instructor that is when you have to be ready by. Don't get fooled into waiting for him/her to say you're ready - they make no money out of you when you've passed so they will keep you learning as long as possible. Dont give them the chance (Y)

Yep also don't go with any motoring organisation where you HAVE to have a certain number of lessons. Think the British Motoring Assosiation insist on all "students" having 35 lessons before allowing them to take a test. This is bollocks, for me I had been on the road for a year, done a fair bit of driving before I was 17 and was comfortable on the road in a car. Clearly I am going to need less lessons than a 17yr old retarded girl who doesn't know her right from left.

Also people do get trapped by not knowing when to do their test. If you can drive well and do the manouvres fine, then book your test... simple. 99% of learning to drive happens after you pass, I'm still learning! And trying to be a better driver.

yeah ive got my final driving test tomorrow aswell with a VW Golf lol

you can do the test with your own car in the UK? here it must be a car with double pedals (the examinatior/terminator has to have them too, clutch and brake pedal)

I thought you weren't allowed to do em in your own cars any more, had to be done in a registered instructers car? Unless that was a rule they were going to bring in and scrapped.

dont you have to wait 10 working day before you can book your test after your theory?

Mine was booked well in advance, and I bumped it forwards through an online cancelation. If you rape the DSA site you can normally pick up a canceled test within a few days.

I don't know anything about a 10 working days jobbie though ?

Don't you need the number off the theory pass certificate in order to book a test too?

Good luck, I hateed those examiner wankers >_< took three goes for me. Over two years ago now :o

I had a theory test on the monday, and an intensive driving course (3 day jobbie) booked up.

I was set to take my test about two weeks after my theory, but a cancelation came up online so I did it the next day in a rush of unprepared-ness and nerves.

Passed though, which was nice :)
