Sam Nichols
Ok well my rotors a bit bent, which is no big deal and easily fixed, but I'm a little curious about the 'feel' of the brake.Basically at some point the lever comes into the bar more than others, it's only a tiny difference but still noticeable. Is this due to the disc being bent? This is the only logical explanation I can come up with, but then I got thinking, the thickness of the disc is constant, so even if it is slightly bent the pads are still moving the same distance (in total) to reach the disc, even if one pad has to move slightly further than the other, it's still the same amount of fluid in the hose and therefore should be the same distance at the lever.I can't get my head around it!I'm not really bothered by it, It's just more a mind fu*k than anything.Any thoughts on the matter? Guest
Air maybe on the hose ? try rebleeding the disk. or buy a new disc.
Jordan GU
I have the same problem. It's where your rolling along (not using your brake) as the rotor touches the pads it makes them move right out so next time you use your brake it's really spongy but after a few pulls of the leaver it's set again.Sorry for the rubbish explanation. Bionic Balls
One of the pads can move to compensate for pad wear...if the disc is bent then this pad will vary in distance from the rotor and the auto-compensation will not react quickly enough to keep the lever pull distance constant...On the other hand...I have no idea about disc brakes

Muel
Both pads can move actually. But yeh if the disc is bent, it can push the pads in very slightly, it only has to push a tiny bit of oil out of the piston and up into the resevoir, but it adjusts the bits point because the mechanical advantage is so big.Straighten the rotor with an adjustable spanner using the caliper to true it, should be fine. Make sure you clean the spanner first.
