Dan6061
Bought some hosting and a domain with Sniffhost, and I can't for the life of me work out how to set the domain up!At the moment it's using a temporary address using an IP address, and when I try my domain it's not working, so obviously I need to set it up.But how?Anyone use them on here for both domain and hosting? I've looked through their FAQ, and searched on their website...

Sometimes takes 48 hours to link your domain to your hosting
Dan6061
Only got it yesterday. I thought I'd have to link it up myself!
Bronz
Yeah you can wait up to 48 hours but that's very unlikely. Longest I've waited for any of my domains is four hours…
JD™
You may well have to link it up yourself.. I don't know Sniffhost personally. I'll have a quick look at their site and see if I can spot anything you might have missed.EDIT: Looks like it's a case of waiting for it, but without logging in myself I don't know for sure. If it hasn't sorted after 48 hours I'd give them a call. It does say up to 72 on their site though but that's ridiculous. As Bronz said, I've never had to wait more than a couple of hours for everything to be working nicely. Edited May 19, 2009 by //JD

that NBR dude
I don't want to come across too negative, however last time I bought anything off Sniffhost I got the same thing, and it was never setup. I waited several weeks, I sent multiple emails asking why and got no replys and requested to have my money back, which I'm still waiting for over a year down the line. Max Quinn
Sniffhost are shit. Sorry to say it now you've bought it but i'm just setting you up for the fall. Is all well and good having cheap prices an all but it's just one guy (Mike i think it is) running it out of his house. He NEVER checks his email, i've got problems that mean i can't access my ftp anymore and he hasn't replied for about 6 months. Had numerous other problems renewing etc too.If you can, try and transfer your domain to another company asap so yo0u don't lose the use of it when it all f**ks up. Bronz
I use http://heartinternet.co.uk/ and http://nublue.co.uk for my sites. Their service is second to none, but Nu Blue is quite a bit more expensive. Edited May 19, 2009 by Bronz
