Cherry123
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...s%3DI%26otn%3D2Okay, so that's the link to the bike i'm referring to.I was really into trials about 2 years ago then went to uni and my bike got stolen (an old Monty)I'm looking to get back into trials and wanna spend around £400 on a bike, i'm looking second hand as I can't be arsed with some new build that can't handle much.. So...browsing through ebay, found a couple of Montys, a Megamo (all mods) then came across some 26inch bikes that looked pretty sweet. Saracens used to be pretty shit in my opinion, stupid BB height etc However, this looks like a pretty good deal and i'm wondering what you guys think? 26inch should be a bit more fun for some street style tricks and other stuff and the spec on this seems amazing for the price, anyone rode one or know how these frames ride or cope with stuff?Opinions and thoughts would be greatly appreciated... maxxis26
most will say there shitebut i like them - yes there cheap but the money is spent in the right places i would like to give one word of advice though change the rear hub asap as thats one real weak point of the whole buildother bits to consider would be a rear brake booster as the frames flex a little and maybe a shorter stem for a more street feel
Rob Brodie
there ok starter bikes but definitely wouldn't pay out that much on one.you could probs get a good second hand one for that money ..rob..

Maladie
Well It doesn't look too nice =/, or the pic on Ebay doesn't do it any favours.T-rex's are 26" and I think they are quite respectable starter bikes.
Cherry123
I say go for it. I started off on a sarcen X-ile. One of the best bikes a had.Hm, well yea to be honest i'm not really looking for a starter bike as I used to be decent until the bike was stolen 2 years ago. I should pick it up again pretty quickly. Seen as this is the top end of it's kind in that range, I was hoping to find out what people who are really into trials would think, as once I get back into it I don't wanna break something that has mediocre starter range parts that won't last..Personally I can't decide whether to go for a 20 inch but it all depends the kind of offers available on ebay and these forums for a good second hand rig Edited May 18, 2009 by Cherry123

Okay, well what do people think of the one linked to at the top of this thread. It retails at £989 so it's not meant as a starter bike really and I am not really looking for a starter bike... but for £399??Do people think this is a great bargain and there are no better deals out there (bear the spec in mind, not just the brand)?Or, do people think the spec isn't that great and there are much better deals?I am struggling to find a bike for 400 second hand that compares with DitchWitch Rims, Hussefelt crankset (although singlespeed is better), and the rest... On a fairly tight budget and there aren't that many good deals on ebay at the mo, so the MAD bikes are looking good if I can get a 1.1 or that offer one off ebay
