Matthew62
dust seal will have expanded using a water bleed (also water will have stripped any lubrication of the piston). Remove the orange dust seal and bleed thoroughly with royal blood and you should be good to go.i've had this exact problem with my maggie for a while and it was the only thing that allowed the lever to return. Water bleeds do not work over time if the lever has been cleaned as said....it cannot lubricate the system.

JT!
I had this problem when i bled my magura with water. I personally wouldn't bleed maguras with water again, the fluid needs to be some kind of oil to keep the pistons lubed to stop this from happening. jsc
Have had this too. Take the lever off, take the hose off and undo the bleed screw. Get an airline and blow the piston out, it will pop out with the spring. give the piston a VERY light sand (with some wet n dry). Cut 1 coil off the spring and stretch it (makes the spring stronger) put it all back together with some copper grease. Pretty easy to do. Been perfect ever since! jsc
Thanks for your reply, I will try.ThanksNo problem, if you get stuck PM me.I'd like to make the point that the piston in mine swelled using the proper mineral oil, not water! There must be a small design issue with the piston, being slightly porous?
hdmackay
The same thing happened to my piston.ANd if your not meant to bleed with water what can you use instead? Because I can't stand royal blood bleeds. They're just far too sluggish. Any ideas?
Matthew62
Ain't got too much choice if water doesn't work. I've just bled with royal blood - it really isn't that bad. Sure its not as easy as water but aslong as you havent got arthritus then you shouldn't be having any trouble. Royal blood is very thin - you won't find anything thinner that will lubrictae the system correctly.
