Haz
They can refuse the sale, they will probably email you and let you know.Or, they will send it not realising the error.Go for it, it's not your fault.

anzo
As said before, they are allowed to decline the sale and not send anything.Whether or not they notice is something else, however I'm sure when they print out the invoice and it reads '£0.00' at the total, alarm bells will ring - although I guess you could argue that if they're printing the invoice then the purchase has already been made.Try it, worst they can do is refuse it. Tomm
As said before, they are allowed to decline the sale and not send anything.Technically that's not true. If they accept your sale and send you an email confirmation, then by law they have "agreed" to the sale, and the item is yours for that price. In the real world, the shop will just be in contact and tell you tough luck. And remember - if you threaten to sue people on the internet you look like a douche. Until payment is taken the company is 100% within their rights to refuse sale especially on something with quite an obviouse mistake. I'd expect it from a new member but not someone who's been here a few years. Tut tut.
eskimo
It would of made sense to ring them up and mention it, and due to your coolness you could ask for a slight discount. But seeing as you wanted to screw them over i think not. Douche.

Nuke Bowel
we did it to trial-uk didnt we? red viz rims or something... Im not comparing the two on the same playing field like...to be fair as said above, it doesn't matter what shop it is.yer.. you could say ahh i'd do it to jjb sports because they have plenty of money etc, but it makes no differnce to if you were doing it to a local sports shop which sells on a much greater scale. At the end of the day it was up for 0.00 I hit purchase, there's nothing bad about that Hopefully I have shown that prices need to be checked better, I'll let it go without making a great scene.I was intrigued admitidly to where I would stand though. So cheers guys for your in put.I have done nothing sneaky as an example of me posting on here. I would have kept it on the hush if I was You spoke to my dad ad, I have been at work all day.

Wasn't sure if he'd give me a booster for 1p.

Guest
You should have found a site that does price matches and bought it off them, Now thats a better idea Edited May 16, 2009 by Nick pyke :)
adamtrials
You should have found a site that does price matches and bought it off them, Now thats a better idea A friend's dad runs a garden shop, and he gets the big garden shop chains to price match products at his shop, he makes leaflets to show them with crazily low prices on then when they call to verify the price he tells them the same crazy price... Not little items, big things like ride on lawn mowers well below trade price.
Tomm
No they dont a lot of companies use an automated system wich just tells people that they have placed the order and confirming what they have ordered. Until payment is taken the company is 100% within their rights to refuse sale especially on something with quite an obviouse mistake.I know it's all automatic, and that's the source of the problem. When you "checkout" at an online store, you have formed a contract with them for the sale. The contract comes into effect at this time, exactly like it does when you "checkout" at a shop. Crucially this has nothing to do with when the shop takes payment, that's apparently not important. So even if this process is automated, technically a contract has been formed so the seller is legally obliged to fulfill it. Some shops have something written into the T&Cs for this eventuality. Have a read if you're really interested.http://www.lctjournal.washington.edu/vol1/a002groebner.html
