Get sun rim MTX's! They are bomb proof, i cracked both sets of my combats, not even managed to buckle my mtx! When i bent the headtube off my old frame, my forks cracked, frame bent, but the wheel was still dead true! I've got the welded ones, there about a tenner more expensive than the pinned ones, but its worth it!

Sweet, cheers dude!

Looking at weight more than strength I'd say - the Combats have been fine strength wise, I just want something as strong as them.

You're a hard man to please. :P

I know, haha, fussy b*****d I am :D

Bit of a weight weenie then :P Nah mtxs are far lighter than combats, well they feel it anyway!

Yep - i was right, combat = 690g MTX = 605g :P

Not especially a "weight weenie" but I'd like some new wheels and I may as well get lighter ones if I can - I'm sur emost of the components I have are far from light, but every little helps :P

Looking at those Atomlabs I think they're out of budget, I'll check out the MTX's now.

:giggle: but yeaah i know what you mean, i need to start getting lighter parts 'cause my dmr weighs an absolute tonne!

You could go for ryhno lights, but they wont be anywhere near as strong as mtxs, but they are 100g lighter! ryhno lights!

Yeah they look pretty good - I saw them before I checked the thread actually, seem quite good for the money.

Will probably use the hubs I've got already but get some new spokes / rims as I haven't seen any half decent wheelsets for less than £170. I'd love to spend more but I really can't afford it.

i bought a pair of atomlab aircorp of here a while ago for very little money, and they are really strong, not too sure about the weight but their certainly not heavy.

I'm not familiar with tubeless setups, what's the deal?

pretty much its a rubber rimtape with a valve that lines the inside of the rim and a little bit of liquid latex that lives within the tire .it took me just over a hour to do,using a compressor .take a look at this ,i belive it explains the ghetto technique wich is very cheap to do ,alternitavely you could buy a proper setup .
