Danny Mac'

Well, I'm a member on 10+ car forums and he's been mentioned on EVERY one of them.

Nobody on car forums was talking about Trials or any sort of bikes up until a few weeks ago.

Also, nobody has come in my bike shop asking about or for trials bikes in the (almost) year I've worked there up until this week where I've sold a few Phases and a load of 24" street bikes.

So I think the answer is yes, people ARE getting interested in trials and are viewing the sport as something cool and wanting to get involved.

You ask a question, inquiring peoples views. I answer, and you tell me I'm wrong.

I like it

Well you were wrong, there IS a bigger interest in trials since Danny Mac's new videos came out. I know that but I was asking if anybody else had actually noticed all the additional interest.

Anywho, I think it might be more noticable from my point of view because I actually work and sell the bikes so I get to see (as Ali does) the ups and downs of different styles and trends.

Trials is deffinatly more popular at the moment than it was say 6 months ago, and I think a fair bit of that is due to Danny's recent videos and input.

We need a graph or at least some cood statistics.

This should do for the time being. Basically, it shows that there is no link between the graph and a possible increase in the interest in trials.

However, this graph shows that Dannys riding didn't influence the amount of deaths in 1997-2002.

Some mentalist BMXer sold his bike to convert to trials, it wasn't Danny Mac but he is ridiculously good already.

I don't know of anyone who has heard of it around here, would be nice if it increased the number of people who come into work and enquire about trials bikes, and wouldn't be bad way to shift the Phase 1.2 and DB Tekiya we have stored away.

Well truth be known, I have always been intrested in trials but never bothered getting ito it. After watching the video of Danny I decided to get back into riding and also venture into trials.

Just bought myself a 2nd hand orange zero which im modding, then I shall get out and try to learn how to ride it.

Trials is hard to learn, so only the people that are naaturally goodor naturally stubborn tend to stick with it.

Matt

That goes with just about any other extreme sport.

Trials is just addictive to most as the progression is much more noitceable and quicker than any other extreme sport (IMO of course)

How long before there's a f**king massive influx of people selling bikes when they realise you can't feel as pro at riding trials as quickly as you can DH/jumping/whatever?

I think that'll apply to trials riders alone once they realise 24" doesn't make you instantly 'street'.
