shamage
Hi , when i choose my first bike i which i have £250-350 to spend , i see that most bikes in tht range dont come with the silver disk on the front tyre and sometimes the back, but the £350+ bikes do , is this essential and whats the difference? Also what bikes do you recommend to get , and please dont say ebay because iv checked for 2 weeks and theirs rarely bikes which people are willing to deliver, and the pickups are usually 5+ hours away.Im looking for a 20 as i have heard its best for learning onThanksedit: just found a onza t comp 2008 on ebay , reckon its any good? it dont have the 2 disks either ?http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...n%3D3%26ps%3D56 Edited May 7, 2009 by shamage
Mat Smith!!
That bike is good for learning on, i would change the chain to a KMC Kool or KHE off tarty though.depends what you prefer, disks work most of the time unless they get oil on them, then there abit of a pain, but maguras/vee's are just as good but suppose they dont work aswell in all conditions unless youve got a grind and the right pads, they take abit more TLC i suppose aswell. El Cristoff
bout as good as they get....Hardly, prefer my BB7 over a hope anyday...Let's get the arguement started...
aener
More to answer his question....It doesn't matter. It's personal preferance as to what front brake you run.A LOT of riders prefer disks just on the front, but a lot of pro's also like dual disk.On the other hand - a bunch of exceptional riders use rim brakes on front and rear aswell...It really doesn't matter - so long as you set them up properly - which you'll learn to do through bitter experience, all too quickly.
