matt360
I bought a kmc kool 1/8" chain for my bike, but the chain catches on the bashring. I guess i'll need a normal 8spd chain, any suggestions?Ta
Muel
I'm using a KMC Z610, works really well! I've heard these bashes eat chains but mines been fine so far. Hardly stretched at all aswell compared to my old Kools I've had over the years, amazed at how good it's been for the weight.
Robwalker
Cant you just try a couple of spacers instead?
matt360
Spacers...that's a good idea. To be honest i've just recently bought the bike and haven't had a good look at the cranks. Do you know how the sprocket attaches? Do i need a special tool to remove it?
Muel
The sprocket and bashguard are one piece, you won't be able to get a spacer in.
Al_Fel
Get a Trial-Tech Lite chain. Beast chains ever. It's the same as the one Muel is suggesting only with a better name.
Ash-Kennard
i bought a second hand ti one, a few years ago, been fine. always used the fat kmc chain, it rubbed for a while, then it wore groves in the bash and was fine
Muel
I have the Trialtech one actually. I got one for the Mod when I had it and one for the stock at the same time, so one more new one and I'll be able to make up another new one out of the excess chain I've got left over. Krisboats
I'm still using a khe collapse on mine. 2 years now and still going strong. I snapped the crank arm before the chain

Krisboats
was that my crank arm you snapped????Sure was, snapped clean in half. Luckily it was only on a 3-4 foot drop so no major injuries. Gonna have to give them a ring tomorrow as it's got some lines running through the inside of it... who knows, they may be nice and warranty it!
